On this article, I’m going to share how I resize images to fit any resolution. This article covers some details to resize images with adobe photoshop with all shortcuts needed to make your work faster than before. So this article will be useful not only for resizing matter, but also for further usage of any purpose with Adobe Photoshop. I have been using this technique for years to resize any images, included all images on this blog.

This resizing matter is a very simple thing for me, because I have been using Adobe Photoshop for years. But I’m sure that this article will be very useful for anybody who isn’t accustomed of using Adobe Photoshop. If you have already been using this technique, just share this article to your friends to make sure they can do this too.

This article is useful for:

  1. Anybody who wants to resize any images  to make wallpapers that fit their screen resolution.
  2. Any blogger who wants to resize any images to be used on their article. Images should fit their maximum width of the blog.
  3. Anybody who wants to learn to resize image with Adobe Photoshop faster.

Step 1 – Set Your Resolution

If you want to resize any wallpapers that don’t fit into your screen resolution, make sure you know exact size of your screen resolution. Otherwise, your final result images will not fit into your screen resolution. If you’re using windows, you have to do this step to know your screen resolution: Right Click > Properties > Setting.

But if you want to make your own image for guest writing purpose, you also have to know standard image resolution used by related blogs. If they don’t tell you, you can just simply do this: Drag the most wide images used in any articles into Adobe Photoshop and click Alt+Shift+I.

Step 2 – Drag Into Photoshop

Now, simply drag image into your new photoshop file. This can be done by dragging image into photoshop canvas first or dragging from its original website location.

Important: If you can’t drag it, immediately hit Print Screen! And then click Ctrl+V to paste it into your new photoshop file.

Step 3 – Resizing

To resize image, simply hit Ctrl+T (Free Transform). The most important thing in resizing is that you have to make it uniform by holding Shift. You may also hold Shift & Alt when resizing. Choose any position that you want to be in the newly created wallpaper.

Step 4 – Cropping

Press F to change screen mode to make it maximized & crop all of them with Crop Tools (C). Look at image below.

Step 5 – Adding Style

This is very optional, but i often use this style to make it nice looking. This style will make your image has tiny photo frame. Right click on the image layer and hit Blending Options. Choose Stroke & Inner Glow and adjust all specification as the one I’ve displayed below.

Note for Stroke: You may choose any color for your border. This is optional for you.

Note for Inner Glow: You may also choose any color, but I recommend pure white. You may also adjust the size. But I recommend between 3 to 5 pixels for better looks.
