Having an effective website makes all the difference for whether you make sales or just entertain visitors. Of course, if you aren’t sure where to start with hosting, this doesn’t have to limit your ability to get on the Internet right away.

Here’s some tips to the right web design that will ensure you have good return on investment. I hope that you can understand them easily & apply them to your website.

Plan your tagline

If you have a reliable website host, you can ensure your website’s tagline will be visible any time of the day. Make sure to check out vps hosting to get a website that has a good percentage of up time. Your tagline speaks to visitors right away. Tell them what you do in one short sentence and include it in your header.

The header takes up a place called “above the fold.” This space is the first place visitors see when they land on your website and should pre-qualify them for your products and services.

Make navigation prominent

An added step, besides having a good tagline, is to include navigation that sells your products and services. If you have a blog or free stuff available, that’s great, but don’t make it the first item people notice. You want to make sales, not give away the farm. Make your services pages, testimonials, product pages go in order from left to right. Put the blog page last. This way you ensure sales if you put your best stuff first and often that’s not the free stuff.

Catch their attention

When a visitor lands on your page, you want to gain rapport with them right away. This takes some research into your target market. You have to know what they are looking for and what they are thinking. Then you ask a question you know they will answer with a yes. If you’re a hosting company, you can ask, “Are you looking for a program to help you write a book?” Of course, you did your homework and know they are looking for what your product, program or service offers, so they will answer, “yes.” This question and answer game moves their eyes down the page, right toward your call to action.

Keep your website uncluttered

If you have too much pulling at visitors, they will not pay attention to your text on the page. In addition, they won’t notice your call to action. Then they won’t buy your product. Plan your web page to be as simple as possible. You have to remember to take your visitor by the hand and lead them through the sale or through the navigation toward what you want them to do. Many website visitors just scan the page and if your page has too much stuff on it, they will feel frustrated and back out, never to return.

Make sure your links work

No one likes clicking on a link only to find the web page is no longer there. Your website visitors will not return to your website most of the time if they run into a page not found. Use a link-checking tool to ensure your links work.
